GSTS UK Wins Championship Shield

Hi All,

Those of you who were unable to attend last Sundays Family funday have truly missed a memorable occasion.

After years of moaning about bad officiating and lack of fitness we have finally beaten the likes of Mfantsipim and Adisadel Old boys to win the championship trophy. The trophy will be at the next meeting on September 30th.

Can anyone who took other photos please pass them on to me?

On behalf of the association I wish to extend my gratitude to all that made this occasion an eventful one.

Best Regards
Raymond Akuaku

Giants donate $700 towards Centenary Building

A group of seven Giants (see list below) who were on campus between 1972 - 1982 has donated $700USD to support the Centenary Building project which has been stalled due to lack of funds for sometime now. Receiving the money on behalf of the school from Ben Idun (see picture), the Headmaster thanked the Giants for the example that they've shown and encouraged all Giants to do the same as the building is meant to be a gift from all Giants to the school.

He went on to ask all Giants (or any individual who may have had dealings with the school) who have any material (pictures, literature, etc. with dates) to send them to him as the school prepares to write a full history of the school for the Centenary Anniversary. Click (contact GSTS)

New Domain Name Soon: gstsalumni.net

It's unfortunate we would have to discontinue using the domain name, gsts.net, until sometime later in the year. In the meantime, you would be able to access the website via gstsalumni.net starting the 1st of September, 2004. This is basically gsts.net changing to reflect more of its audience.

Note that in view of this, portions of the website may not work within the first few days of September. Should you need to reach the webmaster, your mails should be to @gstsalumni.net instead of @gsts.net. Kindly update your shortcuts on your web browsers also. Again, this comes into effect from the 1st of September, 2004.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Computer Hardware Training Proposals requested.

The Headmaster has agreed to the present students being equipped with Computer Hardware Training and as such, interested Old boys can submit proposals for the course. Currently, this is not part of the school's budget so cannot be paid for. Old boys with the required skills and willing to teach should see this as a contribution to the building up of the school. Alternatively, any old boy or group of old boys who would be prepared to foot the bill should please contact the headmaster here.

...and finally, one of our ladies spoke up.

And this is what she had to say:
"Why are the girls of gsts not recognised on the net? Please answer." Celestine Agbozo, 1991 - 1993.

The webmaster has answered accordingly. What do you have to say?

GSTS Old Boys get first regional secretariat.

Mr. Anthony Mensah (Class of '79) has offered an office space to house/accommodate the old boys secretariat for the Greater-Accra Region. The well furnished and ready for use office is located at 32 EDUARDO MOHDLANA STREET, AWUDOME ESTATES, ACCRA, (4th house, on white storey building, on the left after the Big Boss traffic light towards Kaneshie.)

Mr. Mensah, who is the national chairman of the Fraternal Order of Police: Ghana (a non-profit organisation founded to serve those who valiantly serve us!), said he did this as his contribution towards strengthening the association to achieve its aims. He further said he has already made provision for a PC to be installed.

It is hoped that the secretariat will serve as the base for the smooth running of the association and will also complement the website in sharing of information and ideas.

Meanwhile an interim committee is to be put in place to see to the running of the secretariat.

Help needed: GSTS Centenary building model

It has come to our notice that the Centenary Building model which was put together and showcased at the 93rd Speech & Prize Giving Day has not been paid for due to lack of funds.

We would like to appeal to any Old Boy or group of Old Boys who will be willing to help the Tema Old Boys Association (TOBA) pay off that debt. The model cost ¢3.5Million.

This can be paid straight into the GSTS Old Boys Assoc., Tema a/c - 1071010052864 (GCB - Tema Main Branch). Please notify Papa Kojo Mensah-Woode (Boya) - 022 201949 / 024 260351 or Kwame Appia-Ankuma (Palanto) - 022 305532 after making payment.

Thank you.
