Einstein House (Hse 8): This script really brings back memories
of good old days at mother Tesco. How many of you were priviledged
to be staying in your own cabins and not the normal and general
Dorm? It was great at Hse 8 those days during the era of, i think
Mr. Rhule as the hse master.
It was a problem for you to go to town owing to the fact that
there was a rumour that our house master was a Karatist, and who
in this world would like to be beaten by a Karatist and a bushy
one of course (all apologies, Sir). Discipline, As the Accra man
will put it, "KA YA GE ME". How born dog.
The harrassment was ther and all that but still we were enjoynig
bit of the time that we spent there, check the record and you
will know that men like OSSSOOOOO (OSOFO), VRA OSSOOM and the
likes were around and that was the mark that hse 8 left with mother
Tesco, good athletes.
The only three storey building in the great yard of mother Tesco
and who do not want to hide from the scorching sun during inter-Co
by climbing up to the last floor of Einstein Hse.
Love it all leave, Einstein hse, was the "WALABEBA"
hse of all times in mother tesco.

Kennedy and Einstein block was popularly known as the SHIP HOUSE,
because of the cubicles which fill up the whole block. So those
of us in the Kennedy House are always proud of our house since
students from other dormitories always wish to be part of the
block. During our time, Mr Blay, now working with GREL, was the
house master, and he was known for the kind of purnishment he
subject student to if one misbehave. I remember when he asked
us to carry an old spoilt car which has been packed around the
senior housemaster's residence, into the valley behind Kennedy
House(house 7). This is because we the form five guys are not
supervising the junior guys to perform their their duties.
I remember notorious and popular guys, such as Grah (c8), Koko
Rambo (c70), winstern Chirchil (c8), Awoyo (c8), Meino (c3), Daniel
Ampong (c3) ocran-"Aboatan" (c1) Crankson (c3), Boyfio
(c4), Quansah (c8), Mark Adu (c3) and other guys that space will
not allow me to mention.
The most happiest period during my stay in the house was, when
as a member of the house football team, I contributed in winning
the inter-houses football competition. Playing alongside equaly
good players like Joseph Karikari, Victor Kater, Ruben Osekere,
Nat Kowfie (goal keeper), Afrifa otchery and others, it was great.

There is so much I have forgotten about Tesco but my fondest
memories are about simple day to day life. I remember one senior,
do not remember his name. He was asked to pray one morning and
all he had to say was 'May the Lord have mercy on the Big Afro!'
That is the plain truth. Now having said that how can we elevate
Tesco and help out? Anything happening?

Well, I seem to have forgotten so much. I remember very well
the 'Raws' night when we were dressed like mad guys. Some seniors
I remember are E.T. Neutey, Nnuro my cabin prefect, Bartels a
brillant guy in Einstein House. BA Sabaa, an SU guy I admire so
much and so on. Some of my mates are Peter Owusu, Allan Jackson,
Stephen Addo, Obiri Yaw Acheampong and Wallace Anti who I considered
as a brother since we both resided in Tema and entered GSTS From
the same Elementary school. I hear the Einstein House was named
after the great scientist Einstein. I remember we used to do well
in the inter-houses athletics but not too well in the soccer competitions.

I entered House 8 as a "raw" in September 1969. In
cabin one with me were Seniors Tom Mboya, Paa Koufie ( a hockey
star) and Ofosu. Ankrah, Eric Djameh (Old Bozo) Jonathan Addo
(Addoray) from Tema, Agha Koufie and Solomon Tetteh. The other
raw with me was Okpoti Commey from La Accra. The names of the
following seniors who excelled in Sports readily come to mind:
Victor Obosu (Abebe) 400 metres runner for GSTS and Annan (Fish)
from Ngyesia near Sekondi Table Tennis Star and My classmate Wofa
Nti a classic footballer.
The names of some of the House Prefects I remember are: Joe Dakota,
Kofi Berchie (now with AGC), Obrenu Quainoo, Ofosu, Ankrah. I
was the house prefect from 1975-1976. The leading school organist
Senior Olympio was in Einstein House. Senior Emmanuel Bartels
(Owuo) now a Civil Engineer with AGC was one of the brightest
students GSTS produced and was in House 8. The names of my class
mates in House 8 that I remember are Augustine Kwaku Nnuro, Kwakye
(wo Love), Amoah (Life), Emmanuel Tetteh Nuertey from Tema. Dr.
Nyarko Mensah, a successful medical practioner was a year our
junior with Charlie Wax (Referee Frimpong Manso), Nunoo, Sabbaah
and others. How time flies.
This is the little I remember about House 8.
