1 Chairman's Opening/Welcome:
The meeting began with a prayer by Mr Raymond Akuaku and was
chaired by Mr Edmund Dadson
2 Apologies/Absentees:
· Mr Byron Bruce

3 Charitable Status:
A new application process will commence after the election of
executives. Hence at the next meeting application forms will be
ready for Trustees to fill in. Action (Farouk)
4 Dues
Members were encouraged to set up standing orders to facilitate
ease of payment. Reminder letters are to be dispatched. Action
(Farouk)
5 Web Site
Another call was made for the editorial committee previously
formed to pull their weight for the site to take off. Ideas are
also encouraged from every member.
6 Elections 2005
After the 2005 election the following were voted into office:
Chairman: Dr Osei Adjei
Financial Secretary: Mr Farouk Haruna
Secretary: Mr Raymond Akuaku
Organising Secretary: Mr Richard Appiah Oppong
Webmaster: Mr Richard Abbiw
7 Centenary Celebrations (2009)
· The association need to consider undertaking a project
for the anniversary. Other branches will also be consulted on
their plans. Donations are also welcomed from members.
· For those interested in attending the anniversary, Mr
Appiah Oppong is setting up a "Fund/ Saver Scheme" through
which members can start contributing towards their fare, donations,
etc. This will facilitate ease in individual finances.
8 Other Matters
· Networking should be encouraged to serve as a motivation
for attendance. Action (All)
· Summer Barbeque will be held on Saturday 13 August 2005.
Any member interested in hosting the event is welcomed.
· Family Fun day will be held on Sunday 28th August 2005.
· Dinner - This year's dinner will be held on 10th December
2005. Due to past experiences, the event will be held in a restaurant
(not yet decided) and strictly on a pre-pay basis to reduce cost.
· With the explosion of broadband we can organise conference
calls and online chats (meetings) at low cost.
· The executives need to organise a yearly planner/calendar
to serve as a reminder to members about our programs.
9 Bereavement
CDR Appea expressed his gratitude for the support the association
extended towards the funeral of the Late CDR John Adjei.
The association in future will categorise membership (active/inactive)
to determine the level of support provided during these events.
10 Next Meeting
The next meeting date is Saturday 28th May 2005, 14:00 p.m. prompt.
The venue will be South Bank University, Elephant and Castle.
London.
